Bookstore Sale Progress
Of the 25 inquiries we received in response to the announcement of the sale of the bookstore, we have completed interviews with the eight prospective buyers we felt had the potential to be the best fit. We have now made a decision and will be offering the purchase of the store to one of these parties this week. On their part, there will likely be a period of due diligence and solidifying financing. Once this is completed and we have an agreement, we will share their names. We are pleased with the thoughtful responses to the process we undertook, and we’re very excited with the result. We think you will be, too.

Future of Farmsteading
In West Marin
We’re happy to co-sponsor a “Future of Farmsteading” gathering on Sunday, October 16, at 3 PM at the Dance Palace. It features Sarah Henry, author of Farmsteads of the California Coast and an intergenerational panel of local farmsteaders. West Marin is a hotbed for innovative food producers, value-added products, agricultural land preservation and education, food justice, and carbon sequestering practices. The program is part of the Bolinas Museum’s “Bounty: Fine Food Production in Coastal Marin from 1834 to Today.”
West Marin Review
Until September 1
West Marin Review, a literary and art journal published by Point Reyes Books and Neighbors & Friends, is now accepting submissions of literary works and visual art for Volume 8. Submit your prose, poetry, or art for consideration by September 1. All ages are encouraged to apply.
Community Supported Bookstore
Our CSB (Community Supported Bookstore) program helps Point Reyes Books navigate the crests and troughs of running a small operation while giving you a real stake in our continuing success as a sustainable and productive local business. Purchase a membership for $150 or more to use against your future purchases. You’ll get special benefits, including a 5% discount on books. Rest assured that whatever money you have in your CSB account when we sell the bookstore will be honored by the new owner. He or she will need your support as well, so feel free to replenish your account when it runs out, or open one if you don't currently have one.
