Where can you perch on a bale of hay in a feed barn and listen to a reading by former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Hass, winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for poetry? It's the same place, redolent of straw and rope and leather, where the Zen poet Gary Snyder, another Pulitzer Prize winner, told a sellout crowd, “This place smells so good.”
